Failed beauty and fashion Brands Of The Kardashians. SKKN not selling at all, not special enough and a bit of everything.

They are very rich and succesfull people, but not always, some brands did not made it or are not succesful at all. SKIMS is a big hit and worth more than 1 billion, Kylie Cosmetics was very succesful but lost its spark, but Khy, the fashiobn brand of Kylie Jenner and SKKN, the skincare makeup brand of KIM is not selling at all. (rumor and sources haveit). It not special enough. It is simple and boring and too much of everything, like we can feel that. Sometimes doing everything is too much.

The Kardashians are one of the most influential families in the entertainment industry, and their influence extends far beyond their reality show, “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.” Over the years, they have launched various highly successful brands, while others have failed miserably. This blog post is all about some of the Kardashians’ failed brands, including Khroma Beauty, Kardashian Beauty, Kardashian Kolors, and GLAM.

Khroma Beauty: The Controversial Cosmetics Brand

Khroma Beauty was a cosmetics brand launched by the Kardashian sisters – Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe – in 2012. The brand aimed to provide affordable, high-quality makeup products to women of all skin tones. However, the brand was embroiled in controversy right from the start, which led to its eventual downfall.

  • Trademark Infringement Controversy

The controversy surrounding Khroma Beauty started with a trademark infringement lawsuit filed by another cosmetics company, Chroma Makeup Studio. Chroma Makeup Studio claimed that Khroma Beauty’s name was too similar to theirs and would need clarification among customers. The legal battle lasted for several months, during which the Kardashians had to change the name of their brand to Kardashian Beauty.

  • Quality Issues and Negative Reviews

After settling the legal battle, Kardashian Beauty launched a range of makeup products, including eyeshadows, lipsticks, and foundations. However, the quality of the products was highly criticized by customers and beauty bloggers alike. Many customers make a fuss about the poor quality of the products, claiming that they were challenging to apply and did not last long. Additionally, the brand received negative reviews on websites such as MakeupAlley and Influenster, further damaging its reputation.

  • Limited Distribution and Lack of Innovation

Another reason for Khroma Beauty’s failure was its limited distribution. Initially, the brand was only available at Ulta Beauty stores, making it difficult for customers to find the products. The brand also needed more innovation, making it unappealing to customers looking for new and exciting makeup products.

  • Poor Sales and Discontinuation

Despite the popularity of the Kardashian sisters, the brand needed more revenue to sustain itself. The quality issues, negative reviews, limited distribution, and lack of innovation contributed to the brand’s poor sales. Kardashian Beauty was discontinued in 2015 after only three years on the market due to poor sales.

Kardashian Beauty: The Brand That Couldn’t Keep Up

Kardashian Beauty was a cosmetics brand launched in 2012 by the Kardashian sisters – Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe. The brand was meant to provide affordable and accessible makeup products to women of all skin tones. However, the brand needed help to keep up with the competition and eventually failed.

  • Limited Distribution

One of the biggest reasons for Kardashian Beauty’s failure was its limited distribution. The brand was only available at Ulta Beauty stores, which made it difficult for customers to find the products. The limited distribution also meant that the brand could not reach a wider audience, which limited its growth potential.

  • Lack of Innovation

Another reason for the brand’s failure was its need for more innovation. Kardashian Beauty launched essential makeup products such as lipsticks, eyeshadows, and foundations. However, the brand did not offer anything new or innovative that would set it apart from other makeup brands. Customers were looking for something new and exciting, and Kardashian Beauty failed to deliver.

  • Quality Issues

Kardashian Beauty also suffered from quality issues. Many consumers complained about the poor quality of the products, claiming that they were challenging to apply and did not last long. The quality issues led to negative reviews, further damaging the brand’s reputation.

  • Competition

Kardashian Beauty also faced stiff competition from established makeup brands such as M.A.C., Bobbi Brown, and NARS. These brands had already established a loyal customer base and could offer innovative products and high-quality makeup for which customers were willing to pay.

Kardashian Kolors: The Short-Lived Nail Polish Line

Kardashian Kolors was a nail polish line launched by the Kardashian sisters in 2011. The line was meant to provide women with affordable and trendy nail polish colors. However, the line was short-lived and failed to impact the market significantly.

  • Limited Range of Colors

One of the biggest reasons for Kardashian Kolors’ failure was its limited range of colors. The line only offered a few colors, which made it difficult for customers to find the right shade for their skin tone and preferences. Additionally, the colors could have been more unique and innovative, making it unappealing to customers looking for something new and exciting.

  • Quality Issues

Kardashian Kolors also suffered from quality issues. Many customers complained that the nail polish was too thin and runny, which made it challenging to apply. Additionally, the nail polish did not last long and chipped easily, which led to negative reviews and damaged the brand’s reputation.

  • Limited Distribution

Another reason for Kardashian Kolors’ failure was its limited distribution. The line was only available at Ulta Beauty stores, which made it difficult for customers to find the products. The limited distribution also meant that the line could not reach a wider audience, which limited its growth potential.

  • Competition

Kardashian Kolors also faced stiff competition from established nail polish brands such as O.P.I., Essie, and China Glaze. These brands had already established a loyal customer base and could offer innovative and high-quality nail polish that customers were willing to pay for.

  • Brand Name Change

Like Khroma Beauty, Kardashian Kolors had to change its name due to a trademark infringement lawsuit filed by another nail polish company. The line was eventually renamed Kardashian Beauty Nail Polish, but the legal battle caused confusion among customers and affected the brand’s reputation.

GLAM: The Beauty Box That Couldn’t Deliver

GLAM was a beauty box subscription service launched by the Kardashian sisters in 2012. The service was meant to provide subscribers with a monthly delivery of beauty products curated by the Kardashians. However, the service failed to deliver on its promises and ultimately failed.

  • Lack of Value

One of the biggest reasons for GLAM’s failure was its lack of value. The subscription fee for the service was $29.99 per month, which was relatively high compared to other beauty box subscription services. However, the value of the products included in the box was not worth the price. Many customers complained that the consequences could have been better quality and worth the subscription fee.

  • Poor Customer Service

GLAM also suffered from poor customer service, which led to negative reviews and damaged the brand’s reputation. Many customers complained that they did not receive their boxes on time or that the packages needed products. The customer service team also needed to respond faster to customer complaints and offer adequate solutions.

  • Lack of Innovation

GLAM should have offered something new or innovative to the beauty box subscription market. The products included in the box were not unique or exciting, making it unappealing to customers looking for something new and different. Additionally, the Kardashian sisters should have actively promoted the service or engaged with subscribers, further limiting the service’s growth potential.

  • Competition

GLAM also faced stiff competition from established beauty box subscription services such as Birchbox and Ipsy. These services had already established a loyal customer base and could offer innovative and high-quality beauty products that customers were willing to pay for.

  • Discontinuation

Due to the numerous issues faced by GLAM, the service was eventually discontinued in 2013. The Kardashians did not provide a specific reason for the discontinuation, but it is believed that the service was not profitable and did not meet customer expectations.

SKKN BY KIM

SKIMS is a big hit, even being sold in the Netherlands. I think she should focus on this brand and leave the skincare/make-up brand. It is nothing special, it is expensive and the name is weird, you can not even pronounce it. KIMK sells a skincare line, lipstick and eyeshadow. A little bit of everything on the website. Doing too much of everything is not working as we see it ourself with too many brands. The brand is a flop and she should specialize in something with the brand, like original eyeshadow or only lipsticks. Something unique. So instead of sneaky shading lets go each other wisdom and good tips to be succesful both;)

Conclusion

The Kardashians are known for their successful brands, such as Kylie Cosmetics (jenners brand), Good American, POOSH and Skims. However, they have also had their fair share of failures, as evidenced by the unsuccessful brands we discussed in this blog post. These brands failed for various reasons, including poor quality, lack of innovation, lack or orginality and limited distribution. While the Kardashians’ influence cannot be denied, their success in the beauty industry is not guaranteed, and their failed brands serve as a reminder of that.
